An old woman and her cat – a perspective sketch

Garbage Happens

Disposable Society

My first post!

This is something people do every day.  Post to a WordPress blog. It’s not new to them. But it IS new to me. A new thing to experience. And learn from.

I “drew”/”painted” this last year with the idea that I would submit it to a call for submissions from the Paint Spot.  I missed the deadline because I just tend to do that (procrastination IS a word in my vocabulary).  But a lot of people seemed to like it, and it’s kind of “definitive” of my art journey, in the sense that it’s not. It’s full of questions without answers, and that’s definitive enough for me.

I used Conte chalks for this, and Kraft paper. Simple. Fun. Quick. But more.

How did you get the Flickr Photos in the sidebar? that is SO cool. and re: Art’s comment: YES! that is it! the cat is aware of and upset by the artist being there – almost as if the artist is a ghostly presence that the cat can detect, but the old woman cannot! Creepy!

Awesome image. The cat seems to be interacting with the artist while the old woman is oblivious. Love it!
