Kate’s Place – a pastel painting tribute to the pub that Kate built (Fatboyz, Edmonton)

Well, seem to be having some difficulty adding the image to the post.  Will keep trying.

Kate’s place, aka Fatboyz.  This pub no longer exists – it was torn down last year (after a couple of failed re-incarnations), but in its heyday, it was a gathering point for so many people who were blessed to know (or in my case, to have met) Kate.  She was the magic and the heart that held this little pub together, and the people who gathered there, and who knew her, still search for that heart.  When she died, it seemed like the whole world came to say goodbye.  She is missed.
