I’ve been working on these commissions since the end of January (off and on) and am finally seeing them come together. I’m finding that I need to “play” in between times – doodle Cutie-Pies, start my own projects, and deal with the day-to-day stuff we all have to deal with… I thought this would be a good time to show where I am with the portraits of Danica and Teo. Both are very near completion and I met with Rachel, their grandmother, weekend before last and she was happy with their progress at that stage. I’ve done a lot of work on Danica since then (a LOT), and she’s coming along nicely I think. It’s hard, I’m finding out, to get portraits right, when there are expectations from the client, even when you know you can handle them. Here are Danica and Teo (mostly done):
So hard to “make them right” when you can see the photo and know that reputation and future work may be dependent on the customer being delighted.
