What a weekend! The weather was almost too perfect – hot, hot, hot – but that didn’t keep the crowds of art-lovers away from visiting over 450 artists who participated in the 20th annual Art Walk. I love my new venue – the MKT/Iron Horse site – and hope to make it my “permanent” location for all future Art Walks (but that’s the luck of the draw!).
I had the pleasure to have my tent set-up next to Bonnie Koshman, a fantastic mixed-media artist. Her paintings inspired both of my visiting granddaughters to make purchases of their own (via their mom of course!) – their first time buying original art for themselves!
Across the path from my booth, Kari Fell’s display of her amazing art attracted admirers off the Ave and right into the MKT little artist village. I really appreciate her experience and generosity in sharing art-walk tips and advice – and her art is absolutely stunning!
At the end of the first day, on Friday, the City Dinner TV crew arrived to interview the MKT artists, and wasn’t that exciting! Click Dinner TV Live at Art Walk 5 to watch! All in all, it was another great year for the Whyte Avenue Art Walk! I’m already looking forward to next year, but in the meantime, come September 12, I’ll be making my second appearance at the Strathearn Art Walk, so I hope to see you there. It’s a gorgeous location overlooking the river valley! Here’s a link to the 2014 video.
